What is the MysTech Conference about?
MysTech is dedicated to driving positive change for our future by raising the awareness of the role that technology has in our society and in human evolution in the light of spiritual science. The past century has witnessed astonishing advances in technology that have impacted our day-to-day lives, health, and consciousness in profound and unexpected ways. When we consider the impact of technology in the context of our evolution as both physical and spiritual beings, how might it contribute to our future? Will continued advances in technology be a benefit or a burden for the potential of humankind? How must we respond to modern technological developments in order to shape the future towards the good?
In this conference you will gain new insights about the mysteries of technology from the perspectives of spiritual science through the original research of our distinguished speakers across a broad range of disciplines. You will also gain a new appreciation for social three-folding, biodynamics, eurythmy, and more, and learn how these methods and thought-forms can help us to meet the coming challenges of the modern age.

Daniel Packer studied philosophy at Tufts University, and the evolution of consciousness in graduate school at the California Institute of Integral Studies. He has furthered his Anthroposophical studies at the Center for Anthroposophy, and is currently undertaking a Eurythmy training. His studies followed the metamorphoses of human experience throughout the course of history, as culturally informed by the integrated developments of the arts, sciences, and religious expressions over time. He has applied this perspective in the context of human development by working intensively with Rudolf Steiner’s educational impulse as a Waldorf class teacher, high school humanities teacher, private tutor, and now as the coordinator of a new high school program which is devoted to the evolution of consciousness and Living Thinking at the Eastside Community School in Issaquah, WA

The New Scientific Revolution
In-Person
The New Scientific Revolution
The new scientific revolution: there will be one! The old one, born out of a highly effective narrowing of thinking, stands in some terror of its own children. Wedded to related economic/political thinking that repeatedly reveals its inability to resist that which, though known to be harmful, is highly profitable, it gallops headlong down the unlit corridors of artificial intelligence (AI). Propelled by the fear that others will “get there first,” but plagued by gnawing concerns that future capacities and outcomes are unknowable, its progenitors publicly caution that AI may be a djinni capable of devouring itself and the bottle. The stopper, all admit, is nowhere to be found.
The mere idea of technology dependent on the morality of its users flies in the face of thinking based on the existence of a firewall between scientists and the objects and beings of their study. As that billiard-balls-and-forces model of reality grudgingly gives way, where are the breakthroughs taking place? Will there be public accommodation to a view that recognizes human cognition as part of the fabric of reality? Or will there be a further dividing of the ways, with deepening materialistic reductionism and science that recognizes Spirit tracing divergent curves? Through interviews with physicians, scientists, and other thinkers, we’ll explore where breakthroughs are occurring or are likely to occur.
Walter Alexander, a long-time Anthroposophy NYC-based anthroposophist and medical journalist, started out as a fiction writer. He became a high school English teacher (public then Waldorf), and then a freelance writer, quickly finding a way to combine his interest in science with his writer’s craft in medical journalism. In his book, Hearts and Minds (Reclaiming the soul of science and medicine, Lindisfarne Books 2019), he sought to describe (in laymen’s terms) the bridgeable boundaries between key anthroposophic ideas and frontiers of current scientific/medical understanding. He finds the task of “connecting the dots” between these worlds to be an urgent and every-present challenge.

Face-to-face with Virtual Reality
The Warmth of Life
In-Person
Face-to-face with Virtual Reality and the Lesser Guardian
The Raising of Consciousness and Spiritual Experience in the Age of Technology
The physical human being is founded on the special fluid of the blood, and it is in this substance that the ‘I’ of man finds expression. Over many lifetimes we work through our blood to build our capacities to experience spiritual beings. Through such personal incarnation histories, we form the Lessor Guardian of the Threshold, a being of our own creation with dark and menacing qualities. This being manifests our failures along the way while simultaneously serving the purpose of protecting us from premature entry into the spiritual worlds. We do not experience this being consciously until we turn inward and desire truth and transformation.
In contrast we may turn to Virtual Reality as a sort of drugging of our senses, without need for moral intuition or self-transformation. In the world of VR we cannot “hurt” anyone, if we believe ourselves to be purely material beings. Performing unnatural and purposeless acts within the mind may be viewed as “normal” but what of the spiritual daemons we project into the world in such mental activities? This is the immorality of self-deception.
In this presentation we will explore the nature of spiritual and clairvoyant experience, discovering how the Word resonates in the blood through occult works such as the book of Revelation in the Bible and the First Class from Steiner. In contrast we will consider the occult physiology of the senses and the nerves, where the nerves are fused so closely to the blood that we experience only external phenomena, and the immoral nature of deception.
The Warmth of Life and the Cold of Computation in Etheric Resonance and Quantum Computing
Towards an Understanding of Moral Technology
This presentation builds upon the foundational work of the prior presentation, “Face-to-face with Virtual Reality and the Lessor Guardian.” We will explore the resonance to be experienced in facing the Lessor Guardian, within the blood and the nerve-blood relationship, to unfold the potential forces that may be revealed in this exchange. We know that beings are able to communicate with us through the ‘I’ forces of the blood, what we may call the “warmth” forces. They work into our etheric and astral bodies. Yet we also know that quantum computing relies on a form of communication at the particle level, known as “superposition” and “entanglement.” To exploit this property, matter must be driven as cold as is possible on the earth, to absolute zero! We will contrast these two directions in technology and the effects on human consciousness to arrive at a possible understanding for a moral technology.
Daniel Perez is a Computer Scientist in the Boston area, and an Anthroposophist since 1980 when as a Waldorf high school student he attended his first youth conference. He is President of the Board of the Center for Anthroposophy, the Waldorf teacher training and Renewal non-profit, and CEO of Threefold Strategies Fund that seeks to return capital from the financial markets to the Cultural domain. His spouse is a fellow spiritual scientist, and his son is a Waldorf teacher in San Francisco. His daughter is a writer and a deep sea fisher-woman. Daniel derives research from his exoteric, meditative life, and is a regular speaker and writer.

Quantum Entanglement and Wave Particle Duality
“A Scientific Basis for Understanding the Relationship between the Higher and Lower Mind”
The universal principles described in Quantum Physics as ‘entanglement’ and ‘wave-particle duality’, are correlated with fundamental principles illustrated in several branches of Spiritual Sciences, and not only provide us with the intuitive understanding necessary for learning how cosmic intelligences work in manifesting their own outer body through a dynamic process self-organization and emergence, but also for understanding how our own mind and body function as a single unit. These two principles provide us with a dynamic model for understanding how we exist in both physical and spiritual form on multiple dimensions at the same time, and how it is that we create our outer world as a direct reflection of our inner world on a larger and more inclusive scale, as the means for ‘experiencing ourselves’ through our own mental projection. When properly understood, these principles provide us with practical instruction for learning how to operate our own mind in not only creating our reality, but also for transforming ourselves to a higher level of consciousness by working to systematically evolve our own mental creation. The fundamental relationships described in both of these principles can also help us in recognizing how our individual consciousness is currently merging with AI technology to create what appears to be ‘intelligent machines’ that imitate human characteristics and the behaviors that result from them. It’s not just our “information” that’s being harvested through our use of various media devices, it’s our consciousness as an energetic state and model of conduct.
Linda Gadbois earned a Bachelor of science degree in clinical hypnotherapy, and a doctorate in Spiritual Sciences, with numerous specialty certifications in various healing modalities. She’s a professional Educator, Transpersonal Psychologist, Initiate of Hermetic Sciences, author, spiritual mentor, and professional artist. She is a gifted teacher and highly skilled in her ability to communicate spiritual ideas in a way that can be intuitively understood and therefore applied at the practical level in producing immediate and long-lasting results. She teaches by recognizing and tuning into the deep codes, patterns and organic designs that permeate all levels of the cosmos simultaneously in a kind of joyous, eloquent dance. Her life’s work as a visionary has been to provide a creative model for those who have a desire to transform themselves into their highest state of ultimate perfection and expression. She believes that the creative process as a dynamic process of transformation can be taught and learned by anyone who has a strong desire to become the best they can be and is willing to do what it takes to achieve it.

Expanding Our Cymatic Perception

Expanding Our Cymatic Perception
A Living Metaphor
Cymatics is a branch of physics that vividly portrays fundamental principles underlying the ways that matter takes shape in nature. Employing simple experimental techniques, the generative processes of vibration, oscillation, and resonance are made visible with awe-inspiring splendor. When examined closely, one observes that the same structures and processes appear all around us in living and “inanimate” objects, regardless of scale, complexity, and proximity, combining and interacting to create the diverse and manifold expressions of creation.
These processes occur within and around us, in subtle vibrations, such as thought, feeling, and volition, and reflected outwardly as physical manifestations. Viewed in this way, one may perceive oneself as a vibratory instrument in a massive orchestra with a virtually unlimited repertoire, thereby opening our sense of possibility to embrace our full creative potential.
Expanding our cymatic perception can provide a living, breathing matrix for the creative impulse to take form on earth, though our own perceptive capacity. This presentation will be an invitation to explore our creative imagination in a new light, giving voice to it in a way that we’ve never before imagined as possible.
Jeff Volk, for the past 40 years, has been popularizing the science of cymatics which demonstrates, through simple physics experiments, how “inert” matter can be “animated” into life-like flowing forms by the unseen forces of vibration. The implications of these experiments are vast and have inspired profound insights into the hidden realms of nature. These insights pertain not only to our world at large, but also in deeply personal ways to the subtle realms of human nature, which are often just as mysterious.
Jeff has worked as an award-winning producer. His 1992 documentary Of Sound Mind and Body: Music and Vibrational Healing won the Hartley Film Award through the Institute of Noetic Sciences. He then produced The International Sound Colloquium which became the premier conference exploring the power of sacred sound and healing music. Jeff’s company, MACROmedia Publishing, has focused on books and media to inspire and enlighten the spiritual seeker. In 2001, he re-published Hans Jenny’s two books on cymatics as a single composite edition. An extensively revised edition is once again underway, highlighting much of the work that has been carried out in this field over the 22 years since the previous edition was published.
Jeff’s penetrating poetry springs from pondering how the universal principles of cause and effect as demonstrated by cymatics, play out subjectively in our personal lives. His work seeks to offer a wider perspective and an inclusiveness that integrates the disparate … in ways that only poetry can. The Ambiguity of Autumn: Poems of Love, Longing and Transcendence (2010), is his first book of poetry.

Healing in the Third Millennium
The 21st century has arrived! Novel approaches are called for to meet the challenges and opportunities of our time. This talk explores the use of the Ethers that are not only powerful and meaningful but are essential when exploring healing in our time. In this, the 5th Post-Atlantean Cultural Age, healing is the central project with special impulses waiting to be discovered and utilized.
Many people are sensing that resonance, vibration, frequency, and sound offer an important foothold for these present-day explorations. They look to old traditions and ancient technology for help. They intuitively look to the chemical or tone ether. In this talk we will explore the tone and life ethers in the context of healing. This exploration will lead us to Anthropofonetics, a new approach to healing rising from a musical view of the world and the human being. Through Anthropofonetics, one discovers that music has a synthesizing ability that opens doors to healing. Anthropofonetics was founded in 2000 by German artist and healer, Atmani. In its most expansive sense, it can be understood as the further development of Anthroposophic Medicine in which artistry in contemplation, song, and hand leads the human being to the higher self. Learn how the future of medicine is working today.
Joseph Cooney MD is a practicing Anthroposophic physician in Stockbridge MA. He met Anthroposophic Medicine at the turn of the century when his children enrolled in Waldorf Education at the Berkshire Waldorf School in Great Barrington, MA. This was a turning point for him and came after his medical training (Georgetown Med) and Family Medicine residency (Grand Junction, CO). The last decade of his education in Anthroposophic Medicine came in Germany in the schooling of Anthropofonetics. He is the initiator of a newly founded center for forward moving Anthroposophic Medicine in Hudson NY at Pleroma Farm, where community building is taking shape around food security projects using biodynamic principles under the banner of “heal the land, heal the people.” Anthropofonetics training and consultation have also begun in Hudson at Pleroma Farm that serves as a second site for this growing impulse around his work in Western MA and Eastern NY.

What kind of Thinking and Willing can we give AI?
Valdemar Setzer will draw on his vast experience as a Professor of Computer Science to explain that the appearance of thinking and willing in a computer (or robot) is not the same as what a human can do (Intelligence and the Turing Test, Searle’s Chinese Room). What then are the dangers? What are the benefits? How will this play in human evolution? Overcoming our fears of the future and artificial intelligence to achieve a healthy confrontation with Ahriman. Such a confrontation hopefully leads to understanding the soul: thinking, feeling and willing, especially the Consciousness Soul.
Valdemar W. Setzer is a retired professor of computer science at the University of São Paulo. He is a member of the São Paulo State Academy of Sciences and has been a member of the Anthroposophic Society in Brazil since 1970, and a member of the School of Spiritual Science since 1980. He has published 18 books on technical, educational and philosophical subjects, in Brazil, England, Germany and the USA. He is an active lecturer, having given 597 public lectures to-date since Aug. 1999.

Human Resonance

Human Resonance
Measuring Connectivity between Aspects of the Human Organism
How do human feeling, energy and physicality, for example, work together in the evolving human being? How do current events illuminate the struggles for our several aspects to come to fruition?
There is more to the human being than generally acknowledged in mainstream medicine, religion and social science. The idea that we are for the most part a thinking, feeling biological machine has been gaining ground since the Enlightenment. This conception falls short of what observation can tell us about how human beings interact, both in terms of productive cooperation and healing on outward and inward levels. It also has far reaching consequences for the avenues science pursues in furthering human flourishing.
The human aspect or “field” of feeling and consciousness, sometimes called the “astral”, resonates with the living substance, sometimes called the “etheric”, in such a way that the formative, life body is informed and guided by the knowing, soul body. This principle continues to apply in a teacher-student, or healer-patient relationship. Whatever methods we are applying, it is ultimately the influence, or resonance, of higher members of our own being which instruct and heal lower members of another human being. Our purpose will be to create a practical understanding of how this works, what the obstacles are in our world, what is behind those hindrances, and how the human spirit will overcome them.
John Rollinson has been a Eurythmy teacher with a focus on early childhood since 1993 as well as a therapist since 2001. He cofounded a WECAN member Nursery School in Massachusetts in 2014. One of three fully certified practitioners of Craniosacral therapy in Massachusetts, John practices full-time in Northampton, as well as at a school clinic in the area. He studied at the Upledger Institute for Craniosacral therapy, where he trained through the highest levels with the Institute’s founder, Dr. John Upledger. A graduate of High Mowing School, John earned a 5-year degree in Eurythmy in 1993 culminating 10 years intensive study of Anthroposophy in Germany, Sweden, England and Switzerland, before working as a performer in the London College of Eurythmy Ensemble. John is a Waldorf teacher and has worked with children and adults for over 30 years. Besides Eurythmy, the major focus of his work has been Craniosacral and Somato Emotional Release Therapy. Working with patients aged 1 day through 101 years, a dramatic shift in approach has been tapping into the individual destiny of the inmost human being – throwing the therapeutic wheel towards the victory of freedom over determinism. John has 6 children aged 10 – 30 and lives in western Massachusetts.

Physics to Medicine
What can Physics contribute to medicine? So far, the only major contributions have been the forces of gravity, electricity and magnetism, along with atomic and molecular structures which forms the basis for modern biochemistry and medicine. But can physics break through the stronghold of “Atoms” and provide a different foundation for medicine and technology? This talk will address these questions, and provide a pathway for further work.
Gopi Krishna Vijaya, PhD, is from Bangalore, India. He completed his undergraduate physics training from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (India), and his PhD in physics (Solar Energy) from the University of Houston in 2014. He is currently engaged in postdoctoral research of the Reciprocal System of Physics – a way to inculcate Goethean thought into modern physics – in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In the natural scientific domain, he has been the author of 13 journal publications in experimental and theoretical semiconductor physics, presented his work in multiple international conferences (IEEEPVSC, SPIE etc.), served as a research mentor for a number of students, worked with the Port of Galveston Solar Project and collaborated with MIT, Cal Tech, Imperial College London, University of New South Wales and the University of Tokyo among others in an International Consortium for Solar Energy.

Rudolf Steiner discusses Technology and the Dead
Rudolf Steiner lived during an exciting and distressing time in European history, a time that witnessed the rise of spiritualism and theosophy but also unparalleled advancements in technology and new scientific discoveries. Steiner met these challenges by endeavoring to bring together occult ideas with the methods and concepts of the natural sciences. As is well known, Steiner placed a great deal of importance on the connection between living human beings and the souls of the deceased. At the same time, he described a connection between disembodied souls and the later technological developments that would enable machines to have thoughts and think. This presentation explores what Steiner believed concerning the possibility of an “artificial intelligence” in relation to machines and the connection of this “intelligence” to the realm of the dead.

Aspects of Listening
Based on Goethe`s essay “The experiment as mediator between subject and object.”
According to Goethe, the phenomena we experience depend extensively on the attitude we adopt. Essential is the way in which we, as a subject, approach the objective world. In view of the invention of the Lautsänger and the new possibilities of the technical reproduction of music and speech connected with it, the question arises how we can move from hearing to listening. The ability to listen goes hand in hand with the experience of sound and tone.
Harald Hobelsberger is an engineer, head of the School of Cymatics and managing director of Lautsänger GmbH in Hirschhorn, Germany.

Do elemental beings of the elemental world really exist in vibrations and frequencies?
An investigation into how the elemental world communicates with our world through the three occultisms: hygienic, mechanical, and eugenic.
Are Thoresen, MVD, has trained in acupuncture, homeopathy, and anthroposophical medicine and operates a holistic private veterinary practice in Sandefjord, Norway. He has been active with MysTech since its first conference with his focus on Hygienic Occultism. He has published over 25 papers and 10 books and given lectures and workshops about his research at various venues including these MysTech conferences. Are’s current research has focused on Vidar and the Northern Way of Initiation. In his written works, Are has explored the human potential for spiritual knowledge and for new spiritual experiences in our time.

Fundamentals of Cymatics

Fundamentals of Cymatics
Cymatics is much more than just the visualization of sounds. As a new scientific approach it can lead to a deep understanding of the living forces. In this lecture we will approach different cymatic phenomena in order to advance toward their basic principles. We will explore the different qualities of the etheric forces (warmth, light, chemical/sound and life) and how they are connected to the phenomenon of tone. The question of space and counter-space will be approached by first steps in projective geometry.
Dr. Ralf Tita holds an PhD in engineering and worked as an R&D consultant in industrial printing and medical device technology. Since 2009 he is with the “House of Singing”, (Hirschhorn Germany) which was founded by Atmani in 2000 as an artistic and scientific research and education center. He organized the First World Cymatics Congress in Germany in 2014 and is part of the faculty of the “School of Cymatics”. He is the publisher of the Mani Verlag and responsible for the product management and production in the Lautsänger GmbH.

Life, Resonance and Spirituality
Resonance plays a vital role in human beings and in all living systems – from the interactions between the molecules in our bodies to the imagination, inspiration and intuition that allows our soul to connect with the spiritual world. We can thank resonance for the harmonious interactions that hold our spiritual and physical bodies together and enable us to interact with the outside world. In my talk, I will provide some engaging examples – from both natural science and spiritual science – with a focus on the forces and interactions that can serve to form a bridge between the spiritual and physical. Questions to be addressed will include: What is unique about living organisms and their interaction with the etheric life and formative forces? How does the life force permeate and animate our bodies? How might it be channeled towards a new etheric technology? And finally, what role does resonance play in our ability to interact with spiritual beings and the higher beings of the macrocosm?
Doug Smith is a molecular geneticist whose career has focused on genomic technologies, the human genome, molecular diagnostics, and personalized medicine. In parallel, Doug has pursued his long-term interest in Spiritual Science, Anthroposophy and Christology. Learning to navigate both inner spiritual and outer technological paths has been a lifelong endeavor, and Doug’s experience has been that the two are both compatible and complementary.

The UFO Challenge
The Spiritual Meaning of the UFO Phenomenon
In this presentation, three areas of the phenomenon will be touched on, the technological, intrapsychic and ontological/spiritual. Special focus will be on the so-called abduction literature. Similarities between what Steiner called Ahrimanic and Luciferic beings and the appearance and apparent agendas of UFO beings will be explored via quotes from Steiner and modern-day experiencers. The role of more benevolent beings, the “Vulcans” will also be discussed. The connection of this phenomenon with the Ahrimanic agendas of transhumanism and AI will be examined, as well as the potential hybridization and future evolution of mankind. The dangers of three forms of materialism will be touched on, offering an alternative blending the best of the “new sciences” and traditional supersensory organic development.

Preparing the Future by Resonating with its Impulses in Our Age
Robots mimic human will. AI mimics human thought. The next step is to mimic human feeling. This would achieve Artificial Soul. Andrew will lead us on journey of what is to come according to the foresight of Rudolf Steiner and biblical books. Andrew will attempt to show why what seems grim and alarming has a purpose while he shows how the “welding together of Man and Machine” will occur using resonance.
